Nodes

Nodes are the building blocks of a Project Map algorithm. Each node is a shape on the canvas representing a step, decision, or annotation.

Adding a node

  • Drag a node type from the left sidebar onto the canvas.
  • Click a node type button in the header toolbar to place one at a random position.

  • Drag the palette area to pick hue/saturation/brightness.
  • Drag the hue bar to change hue.
  • Switch between HEX, RGB, HSB, and CSS input formats.
  • Previously used colors appear as swatches below the picker.

Handles (connection points)

Each node has up to 4 handles (top, right, bottom, left). In the Appearance tab preview:

  • Dashed circle — empty slot; click to add a handle here.
  • Filled blue dot — active handle; click to remove it (will also delete any connected lines).

At least one handle must remain active. Removing a handle with existing connections will prompt a confirmation dialog before deleting those connections.
