Simulation Log Settings

Fine-grained control over which simulation events are recorded in the log.

How to open settings

Click the ⚙️ button in the simulation logs panel header. The settings drawer opens on the right side of the logs panel. Changes take effect immediately for the current and future simulation runs.

Main Settings

OptionDescriptionDefault
Environment temperatureStarting ambient temperature (°C) for thermal calculations25 °C
AirflowSimulated airflow level affecting component cooling (None / Low / High)None
AccuracySolver accuracy level — higher accuracy is slower (Low / Medium / High)Medium
Simulation speedTime scale multiplier (0.1× – 100×)
Particle speed loggingLog events when current-flow particle speed changes significantlyOff

Voltage Measurements

Add specific circuit nodes to track. For each node you configure:

  • Node label — the wire or pin label to watch
  • Threshold — log an entry when voltage crosses this value (V)
  • Direction — Rising edge, falling edge, or both

Current Measurements

Enable per-component current logging. Select one or more components and choose:

  • Log on change — record an entry whenever current through the component changes by more than a set delta (A)
  • Log on zero crossing — record an entry when current reverses direction

Temperature Measurements

Log thermal events for selected components:

  • Warning threshold — log when component temperature exceeds this value (°C)
  • Critical threshold — log when component temperature reaches the failure point

Power Measurements

Track instantaneous power dissipation:

  • Log interval — record power for selected components every N milliseconds of simulation time
  • Log on limit approach — log when a component reaches 80 % of its power rating

Failures

Configure which failure modes generate log entries:

Failure typeDefault
Overheating (thermal runaway)On
OvercurrentOn
Voltage breakdownOn
Reverse breakdown (diodes)On

Collaboration Events

When working on a shared board, you can also log:

  • Collaborator joins / leaves — record when a user enters or exits the simulation session
  • Remote switch toggles — record when another user clicks a switch during simulation
