Adding Components
How to find, place, and configure components on your circuit canvas.
Placing a component
- Open the component panel on the left sidebar.
- Click the component you want to place. Your cursor changes to indicate placement mode.
- Click on the canvas where you want the component. It snaps to the grid automatically.
- The component is selected after placement — the properties panel opens on the right.
Component categories
| Category | Components |
|---|---|
| Power | Battery, Sine Generator, Square Generator, Ground |
| Passive | Resistor, Rheostat, Capacitor (polarized), Capacitor (NP), Inductor, Transformer |
| Diodes | Diode, LED |
| Transistors | NPN Transistor, PNP Transistor |
| MOSFETs | N-Channel MOSFET, P-Channel MOSFET |
| Switches | Push Button, Toggle Switch, SPDT Switch, Multi Switch |
| Active | Bulb, Relay, Optocoupler |
| Measuring | Ammeter, Voltmeter |
| Other | Junction |
After placing
Once a component is on the canvas you can:
- Move it — drag the component body to reposition
- Rotate it — right-click → Rotate, or press R while selected
- Mirror it — right-click → Mirror
- Edit properties — click the component to open the properties panel
- Delete it — press Delete or Backspace
Duplicating a component
Select the component, then press Ctrl+C to copy and Ctrl+V to paste. The copy is placed nearby with the same property values.
Component terminals
Every component has colored terminals (small squares on the edges) where wires attach. The number and position of terminals depends on the component type:
- 2-terminal — Resistor, Capacitor, LED, Diode, Battery, Inductor (one on each side)
- 3-terminal — Transistors (Base, Collector, Emitter), MOSFETs (Gate, Drain, Source)
- 4-terminal — Relay (Coil +/−, Contact COM/NO), Transformer (primary and secondary pairs)
- Multiple — SPDT Switch, Multi Switch, Optocoupler
Hover over a terminal to see its label (e.g., "Base", "+", "OUT").
